aftermarket amp to factory wiring
i want to hook up an aftermarket (kenwood) amp and use the factory wiring for inputs . the amp i have can be wired that way, and i have all the parts i need. my question is which is the remote (turn-on) wire at the factory amp? im not removing anything only adding an amp and sub. is there a better way?

Search for E46 wiring diagrams in the ICE section. They're around, and they'll answer your question.

Purple wire, you could just use a finder light (hook up the negative to any brown and put the positive to the purple wire to test)

Purple? It's a white wire.

The remote turn on is one of a couple off white wires going into the factory amplifier.
Avoid tapping the ignition if you can- it's playing with fire.
