M3 bumper reinforcement
Just curious what years e46 m3 came with carbon fiber front and rear bumper reinforcements? I just picked up one from the auction that had a minor fender bender and was looking around for bumper supports, it seems some came with carbon fiber and some came with aluminum.
I assume the benefit of carbon fiber is lighter weight? |

Pretty sure it was carbon or plastic. The carbon ones came on competition package models and (I think) all 2005+ models

Oh okay so no aluminum. I was checking some out on eBay and it looked aluminum but I just glanced over. Was just looking into what they generally go for.

No. The carrier was changed to carbon fiber mid 2002.

The 2001 was aluminum. It was switched some time in 2002 to carbon fiber.

Thanks guys. Mine is a early model 02 I guess. Oh well the aluminum ones are cheaper and the bumper shocks are in good shape so no need to switch to carbon fiber.
