Does anyone have any reviews on the 13 CTS Wagon or 13 X5?

FYI no hate taken with the assumption I was the guy with a kiddo. Its me. Unfortunately I married a dead beat, and my son who is my life is the one that suffers. I am trying my best to make it right for him. He has a future step mom that thinks the world of him, she is wanting something bigger so she can be the soccer mom, that he does not have. That is the point of this thread.

All of the German SUVs are going to come with standard expensive out of warranty maintenance. If you plan on not keeping it past the warranty period then by all means have at it. Other options to toss in if you're only keeping for warranty period is Audi Q5/7, VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne V6, Volvo XC60/90, etc...

I would highly recommend the JGC diesel, show her the MPG benefits and actually have her try one out before making a final decision.

Another option is a Honda Pilot or Acura MDX. Both are roomy, comfy, and reliable. Also leaves the Toyota Highlander, RAV4, Venza (fugly), and 4 Runner.

Not sure if you've tried the new Explorer or not but it's quite good. Long term reliability has yet to be vetted but at least it'll be cheap to fix!

She is korean, so all asian models have been explored. Ford is my next choice, but she is pretty much dead set on a mid grade luxury vehicles.

We're in the same boat right now. Our shopping list includes XC90/60, SRX, FX35, Evoque, LR2, RX350, Q5, and MDX.

I'm leaning most towards the SRX or Volvos, simply because they have dealerships in town.

MDX - mine has been bulletproof...well, as long as she doesn't run it into the side of your house. Ask me how I know. Mine is in the shop right now getting basically a new passenger side

I would also vote 4Runner.

I've heard that as well. Plenty of performance, looks and technology too.

Dare I say Q5? How are those holding up?

My neighbors have a mdx. The first year was really rough. It was sucked up on a trailer and taken to dealership to be fixed several times. Now it seems to be fine. Ill walk over and let her look at it.
