i finally got around to installing my gyro under the driver seat. to do this i had to re locate one of the ground points.
I also washed up the underside of the car and began to prep some small rust spots for paint.

does anyone know what this piece is? ive seen it lying around in the boxes of m3 parts i got from my donor car but i dont have any idea where it came from or where it goes... Does anyone recognize this part?
pics of my 40% auto solutions SSK ive literally been waiting years to get my hands on this kit. I finally talked with the owner of Autosolutions (Ronald) and put together a group buy a couple months ago.

these are just some of pics i took just in case it will help me with the coding when i get the car back together.. these are pics of the LCM (stock from my 328i), EWS (from donor m3), DSC (from donor m3) and DME(from donor m3). Im hoping when the time comes to make them all work together these pictures will make less difficult.
Im told that making a DME from a vert work with a non-vert is a nightmare.... And as you could guess my donor car was a vert. so this will be another difficult hurdle into making this swap work like it came from the factory.

I may be getting a totaled M3, an want to do the swap my self also. I have a few questions i was wondering if you could help me out with. Sorry if you had any of these answers in your thread, I may have skipped over them.
1. can i use the sub frames front and rear control arms an suspension? 2. how much of the wire harness do i need to transfer to sedan? 3. my car is already a manual would i still need to transfer pedal assembly? 4. Will the RPM lights work on the gauge cluster work, or what has to be done to make them work? |

2.this depends what features you want to work. and what features your car already has. Just to get the car to start. you will need to wire in the EKP fuel relay. If your car is currently drive by cable you will have to convert that to drive by wire and add the wires for the m3 drive by wire pedal. You will have to extend a couple wires for your radiator resivor sensor. non-m is located on drivers side, M is located on pass. side therefore you need to extend them from drivers to pass. You will also have to add a connector and 2 wires for the Idle control valve. the non-m's have 1 connector with two wires going to them. the M's have 2 connectors with a total of 4 wires (2 on each connector) 3. I think i answered the pedal question already.... if your car is already drive by wire than i think you can use the same assembly although i am not sure. because my car was drive by cable i will be swaping all the pedals for the m3 pedals. 4.You will need the m3 cluster for the lights to work, as far as wiring i dont think anything needs to be changed there. although i did add a wire or two on the connector for the cluster i think they were DSC related so you could potentially ignore them. If you have any more specific questions feel free to ask.

last night the garage called and said they r done with my rear diff carrier. i had to have them flip two of my bushings because they were installed upside down the first time. Now Its time that you guys will start to see some real updates. Tom. Ryan will be coming down along with his torque wrench and we will put the rear together again and if all goes well we should have the rear in the car within an hour or so.
After that i need to install my front brake pipes along with my fuel scavange line. After thats completed it will be ready for the engine. im guessing another month or so and it will look like a car again. as for it starting and being driveable...... i pray it's not to diffficult to get coded/running

ok well ryan and i got the rear together.... except due to my error reading a torque spec we broke one of the two bolts that goes through the rear of the diff into the carrier.
So as usuall 5 steps foward and 4 back. On another note i survived another week of finals and passed all my classes so for the next 6 weeks im going to be going at this project hard... Sorry for lack of updates, hopefully i'll have some good ones soon

i have to wait for xmas to remove the broken bolt becase im getting a new screw extractor set for xmas.
until then ive been trying to keep the ball rolling and i got some of the interior back together. by the end of today i should have a decent ammount of the interior back in the car. I'll take some pics after im done for the day today and post them up. One problem i ran into was my passenger door pannel will not stay tight against the door at the bottom (near the speaker). for some reason it keeps poping out. When i installed the Dash frame it was hitting the door pannel when i tried to close the door. I assume it was because the bottom of the pannel wasn't tight against the door, so i decided to just remove the door pannel and deal with that later. Has anyone ever had any problems with their door pannel not staying tight against the door? i replaced all my plastic clips so its not due to them being broken/missing

I installed a bunch of interior pieces on sunday. I started by cutting the styrophome that goes under the driver side carpet to fit around the Gyro i installed. You can see in the first pic what it originally looked like. notice the styrophome piece fitted into place along with the heating/ac ducts that run under the front seats. now just tuck away some wires and its ready for carpet and headliner
