So what, these games are much more than being an academy grad. Service members have a sense a pride when their team wins (enlisted to officers). Your comment doesn't surprise me for someone who's never served....

hahah I would choose having a regular college life than going to the academy any day. Hell, I even got my Air Force Academy nomination from our Congresswoman, until I decided to go ROTC instead.

Same. I enjoyed my four years of college, and the West Pointers I know are the same mix of good and bad officers you see from every commissioning source.

Did ROTC, no difference, same mix from Academy vs ROTC. There were good ones and bad ones from both. Last edited by MDydinanM; 12-08-2012 at 09:28 PM. |

Was in AF for four years, got out little over a year ago. Was a love hate thing with me.. Met some good people and met a lot of douche bags.

I've heard a lot about the C5's from my brother, a C-17 crew chief. Is it true that the C5's aren't extremely reliable mechanically wise?

That's awesome man. I'm thinking about doing a lateral transfer to EOD.

I am sure it is much tougher than you think just to "lateral transfer" into an EOD position. a lateral transfer imply that you can just swap position with minimal paperwork/training. also...you claimed to be a naval aviator. any competent pilot would never give up flying for ANYONE or ANYTHING so this makes me wonder why you want to switch to an EOD spot. EOD is one of the most technical job and their graduation rate is very low due to the high standards of exams/test requirements but good luck on your "lateral transfer" though |
