How do I talk someone out of getting an m3 competition as a first car..

My friends dad offered him 20 grand for a first car (his dad is so dumb) and he's thinking of getting a 2003 m3 competition with 76k miles.. He doesn't even know how to drive a stick. I tried describing the raw power that car has and the fact that if there's one rainy day or snowy day he will not be able to control the car and he won't listen! What do I say to him? I guarantee he's gonna crash this car if he gets it. I can't let him get hurt/ruin this gorgeous car! This car is way too much for him to handle. His dad is stupid for giving him money for his car anyway! He won't appreciate the value of what he's driving..

$20K isn't much compared to kids getting a brand new car.
but yes, if a teenager I wouldn't let my kid have that much power with that lack of driving know how. horsepower and testosterone is a bad mix for kids.

then again a kid can be foolish/unwise in any car. happens all the time.
if you want to scare your friend and his dad straight. Link them to the poor kid who crashed and killed all his friends in his M5 years ago. that will sober everyone up.

Yeah. That was pretty crazy when they figured out it was him that died. Pretty sobering to say the least.

He won't die. He will ended up being a better driver than you and pull more chick than you before his 18th birthday than your whole life so far.

Haha hey I'm more then happy with my 330ci that I paid in full with my own money, I pay insurance, gas, and all repairs myself! I just work like crazy!

Woah good catch! I didn't even think of that. But he sent me pics and everything! It was interlagos blue and had the rims.. I assumed it was a zcp. He told me it was as well. Maybe he was just trying to get me jealous ? Hahaha

Why not let him have the car? Encourage him to do some driving events and track days where he get use to the car at its limit in a safer environment than the streets. Then once on the street he'll be just fine. Help give him the tool to succeed in the car. Like other's have said, jelly much?

Tell him to consider a zhp instead, sedan more practical for a 17 year old and probably enough car for him
