I wouldnt. You can get a 2013 for close to that price (about 27k) and have the new motor.

Yea, one of our forum guys just traded a 1.5 year old wrangler for a brand new one, and lost $500 on the deal. That is insane.

Its everything. The interior, the warranty, the paint choices, etc etc etc. For such a small difference in price, I wouldn't even think about it. If you go on truecar, you will see the base unlimited can be had for about 25K. Now granted, thats with windup windows, but you get the point. You can get a nicely equipped X (power windows/locks, remote start, etc) for about 27-28K out the door. To have a brand new vehicle for 2K more seems like a no brainer to me.

Let me know if you are really interested, I can guide you through the process. There are many mistakes a person can make when getting a wrangler which they greatly regret later on (I am guilty of making them unfortunately) so now that I learned from my mistakes, so can you.

That was my old one, its a 2007 Rubi, really liked that truck but it was hard with a newborn and the car seat going in and out of the back

You are the man! Thanks. I keep kicking the tires on the idea of getting one for fun. But I won't waste your time asking for full on advice just yet.

I want a new two door, and could not care less about options. I want it old school, with nothing in it to steal and nothing in it to break when wet. So power windows are the furthest thing from what I want. I just want to throw on some meaty tires on black steelies, and get a bikini top (if the JK has those.. I know the old TJ did).

I would advise against steelies. The 15" don't fit over the JKs brakes, and you will need to buy larger ones. They also weigh a ton. You don't want to do anything to a JK that slows it down. There are plenty of nice cheap black alloys (like mine) and you won't be adding anvils to the Jeep. They have plenty of bikini tops. If thats all you want, you should be able to get a barebones version for 25K or so.

Wranglers are cool, they are really pricey these days, but I believe they have the highest resale value of any car model.

Traded in the '05 ZHP 6sp for a '07 Sahara Wrangler 6sp! Couldn't be happier. Definitely see where all the Jeep addiction comes from... once I'm done with school and have myself a solid job I'll be looking at getting a newer model like yours.
