I believe in marriage, even though I married a psycho, the first time. I suggest any of you wanting to get married, wait until you are at least 25. At that point you are not a total dumb ass. 30 is really ideal in today's world.

I'd say a good percentage of people do this but not nearly as much as you think.

I know a lot of people that meet someone in their late 20's and just say fuuck it, they're good enough.

This just speaks to my point, that's the wrong reason to get hitched IMO

if you make more money than your future wife, marriage is the largest purchase you'll ever make. all the coupon clipping, black friday deals, ebay sniping would be pointless if u married and then divorced the wrong person

So when you meet and hear people saying "as soon as we met, I knew", they're full of sh!t? I've heard it countless times and even my dad told my grandmother soon after he met my mom that he knew he had found his wife. They've been married 30+ years now.

I think there is a lot of truth in the saying of "you just know"...I think that you feel that early on in most cases.

And in saying you just know I feel like that's a soul mate type thing. Maybe some of the married guys can chime in but my friends & relatives who are recently married have harped on their husband/wife being their best friend. Call me crazy, but settling for someone isn't a person I would refer to as my best friend.

Also, she claims she knew I was "the one" after date two or three. And that was almost seven years ago now.

I don't know, I'm a romantic at heart so I think there's someone for everyone but at the same time things don't just happen. You have to put in some work in order for things to go well; you're not going to meet the girl of your dreams without getting out there and wading in the pool.

I see this trend almost continuously with people that get married in their early 20's, as they grow up and change, by the time they are in their late 20's they are completely different people.

The moral of the story is be single and get to know yourself and what you want, then find someone that meets those requirements. I have been told for years that "your standards are too high" which is nothing more than an attribute to people giving in and settling.

Nobody can understand how I found my unicorn but she had the exact same mindset.

Hold yourself to higher standards, you deserve exactly what you get.

Yeah I have, that's a good problem to have. Sh!t with my girl hasn't been great lately, doesn't help that we're 2 hours apart either, so I keep telling myself I just need to get out there. It's weird being back at school and not knowing anyone, makes things a lot harder. I used to be able to walk into a few bars and know at least a couple girls, or at least someone who was with girls, not the case any more.
