I hear you! I don't what it is about these cars. For me, even though my car is going on 13 years old, but this is first car I've felt this passionate about since back when I had my 1984 Celica GT.

I've had more fun cleaning, adjusting, replacing and doing the DIY's, I've found online.

I skipped trying to restore mine and just sprung for lenses. I'm gonna try waxing them next time. Thanks for the tip

use sealant not wax. it'll last longer.

The Turtle Wax kit has a clear coat that you put on ONLY AFTER, you put the polish on. It acts like a clear coat on paint. Now, I thought the lens looked good after all the wet sanding and polish, but it really popped when I put the clear coat on, which filled in the micro scratches.

Now to those of you who are "hating" on this. I take pride and fixing stuff and sense of satisfaction. If it comes back in a few months, so be it. The surface condition is better now than it was for the 13 years of perpetual blasting, from the road. I can't afford to throw money at the Bimmer! I do that with the wife and kids.

That's probably just one of Turtle Wax's regular sealants or very similar. Maybe a slightly different formulation for plastic, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is just their paint stuff rebranded.

whatever you are doing is likely illegal and dangerous. for your well being and safety, do a proper retrofit (something you won't be able to do yourself--minimum $700-$1,000+hours of labor--if not days, and coding) or stay stock.

Please don't just put HID bulbs in your halogen housings/reflectors. Retrofit some projectors. I loath people who blind me with their **** HID installs.

Why are you posting this here? It is completely not relevant to this thread.

I had to read it 4 times to understand what you meant. I am happy on a monday, so I will try to answer your questions as I understood.

No, you wont get SES or CEL with HIDs installed.
No, there is no increase in power to/from engine with HIDs installed. Infact the ballasts should consume less power than Halogens. No where related to engine though.
You will get Bulb Out error light on the dash and possibly the lights will flicker. So the car will need coding to accept xenons.
When installing HIDs please do install projectors as well.

Next time please post on the right section and also use the search function(this has been done and there is a really nice DIY in the lighting sub-forum). Also, use punctuation .

My Bilstein Touring struts/shocks came in the mail today. Very excited to get them installed. Unfortunately I have to wait until Christmas to get them

Went over chrome trim with shadowline vinyl wrap. And got black kidneys from ecs. I'm surprised on how easy the wrap actually was. Looks 10 times better IMO
