So true. HP +110% will take its toll on any engine. But hey, if they have $$$ to burn then go for it.

Its not like they´re going to replace it with another stock Engine. They said that they have a built one ready for the car when this one fails.

And the gearshift was better than a BMW but not as good as a Honda.

Cars like the S2000 deserve much higher praise than the FR-S/BR-Z.

I'm excited for what the BR-Z has started though, I think we'll see more competitive cars on the market very soon.
S2000 doesn't exist anymore, and was a good bit less practical than the FR-S. That said, I absolutely love the S2000. That thing demands full attention, and MAN is it fun to keep its toes.

S2000 = pure; FR-S/BRZ = compromise

Change the tires to the performance tires of your choice. Hell, put on some coilovers and better sway bars and really watch it go.

Brakes- were not all that great. Change the brakes for something better. Pads, Fluid, etc. Infact MANY BBK´s are avaliable for this car, and you can even install the STI BBK on the car if you want.

And the gearshift was better than a BMW but not as good as a Honda. Change the shifter for something that you like.

But you have to realize that this car is built for people to modify them, the car just came out and the aftermarket comunity is already booming at it. The car is cheap and you can build it the way you want it. Drift, autocross, Drag racing, etc. It´s easier to mod, the parts are cheaper, more fuel effeciant, than most of its competitors.

You can do that with lots of cars. You can even do that with the E46. I don't think the car is all that fuel efficient...

Now I will admit that the turbo kits seemed to come together quite quickly.

As far as the shifter goes, your run of the mill SSK is a piece of crap and doesn't really help in the slightest.

Edit: nevermind about the fuel mileage. Fuelly looks good, although IIRC the ratings are not that great.

Sure, you could do that with a Bently but it would cost alot more than say a toyota. And the aftermarket community isin´t that big.

All I´m saying is that this car is a blank slate. Small, light, Really low center of gravity, RWD, LSD, 6 Speed manual, etc.

The E46 M3 is IMO the only E46 Worth sinking money into. But the insurance costs and the cost of the parts etc, is steering me away from one.

I would be seriously considering one if they did not completely screw up the rear taillights of the car for the production model. The concepts looked 100000000x better, what were they thinking?
