So after dealing with the Dbag insurance adjuster he cut me a check for $2,379.16 I now need to find a fender and door for cheap as possible. Anyone think my door is fixable ?

Why was he a dbag? Or are you just mad they didn't total your car for you?

before we even started to look over the car he insisted multiple times that i take it to there preferred body shop for all the work and i continued to say id rather wait and seek my own personal body shop mechanic probably to save them money but it is what it is.

That's generally because it streamlines the process for everybody involved, and yes, they generally have more negotiating power with their direct repair shops because of the amount of business they put through.

Oh, I get it now. The adjuster only wanted to get a better repair job for him!

Thanks to craigslist i found a parts car in the same exact color as my car. The guy wants $195 for the door and fender. Leaving me with $2,184.16.. Minus my $500 deductible = $1,684.16 profit. But i will probably pay a shop to install these parts so who knows how much that ll be. Now i just need corner lens and the car should be back to the original state it was in

Hope you killed that deer an brought it home after, least ya could do for him hitting your car is gut him, hang him in the garage for a day or so, skin him and keep the meat. Maybe send a message to the other deers out there lol

That's right! Varmints! Here in Michigan, especially the southern part where I live, they Deer are so thick and over populated, that I feel like I run the gauntlet every day, getting up to the Interstate to go to work. Even then those Kamikaze try to take out on the highway!

Right after the deer ran into my car i pulled over to look at the damage when another car had stopped and asked if everything was ok. I had asked if the deer was still there but they said they didnt see anything. They are strong animals , I would imagine he died eventually

Still, a 6 fold difference is a bit silly. Can't see the point from a business perspective.

Have already found a door and fender for $195 same color. Unless your add in the door guts ( panels,regulator, window exct ) then you've got a deal.

Little update:

Just got back today from VANOS Motorsports in NJ. Great guy, Great prices and he has just about everything there you would need. As soon as i got back i got started on the fender. It was pretty much a breeze right threw.







And then the door came. Was pretty straight forward taking it off , stripping it and swapping everything over.

BUT now i have a problem. Took me over an hour to figure out how to remove the exterior door handle.. After finally getting it off , putting it back on was a nightmare. I got the handle on itself but i don't know if i broke a clip or didn't re-connect something because the door handle doesn't work at all and my door wont latch. Its basically stuck open. I am at a complete loss right now. Does ANYONE have a DIY on removing and re-installing the door handle ? I need serious help.
