Amex Gold is running a deal where you get 75,000 points if you open a new account with them.

That's actually a pretty solid card to help with savings

Default: Priceline 2% visa cashback everything. No min/max, no rotating categories, works everywhere.
Gas: Costco Amex Business 4% cash back

Btw the Priceline visa is better than Fidelity Amex in that it's accepted at more places, and it can be redeemed as cash right on your statement. No need to transfer it out of a fidelity account.

Apparently AMEX does not offer it anymore. They only have the Blue Cash Everyday or Blue Cash Preferred on their site. I've had the card since 2007. Guess they did away with it.

We use Chase Sapphire Preferred, great points and we can usually get a free vacation (flight + 4 nights hotel) a year out of the points we get.

On top of that, the customer service is second to none.

I thought about getting a Sapphire. Except when I called Chase they won't give me the bonus points and first year fee waived for signing-up unless I apply for a new card. I can't simply transfer my Freedom Signature.

Yeah...That's what they did to us too. We signed up for it anyway because we wanted to keep the Freedom card. The caterer for our wedding is a local high end grocery store so every time the bonus cash back for grocery stores comes around, we use the Freedom card to do another payment towards that bill. Once that's done with, we'll likely just cancel it.

I looked at getting the card when booking my honeymoon. I figured between the airfare and hotels it would be worth it. But I wasn't about to apply and wait. I needed to lock in the rates and hotel rooms far in advance otherwise there would be nothing left.

Why do you americans have the best credit cards.
I have 1% cash back on most, except my amex + air miles combo which has a higher combined cash back.

Great card. Got mine in 2008. Nothing beats CASH back. I was driving a lot so the 5% back on premium gas was awesome.

I stayed away from cards and other programs that offered points. **** the points BS, just tell me how much cash I'm going to get.
