I believe the figure is closer to 46 million. Regardless, still a staggering number.

We're a Christian Nation based on Christian Values from our Christian Founding Fathers. We give to those less fortunate. But Americans are bad Christians. So the Government, per the will of the Founding Fathers, is forcing people to help those less fortunate.

I don't see why anyone would complain. It's what Jesus would want.

Any good Christian wouldn't mind see the Government carry out the will of God. Plus it guarantees them a spot in Heaven.

For Jews, now, forced charity would be good. But is it really charity if someone makes you do it?

I wasn't aware that Christians didn't obey the commandments of God.

Be openhanded and don't go through your vineyards twice is not the same as let poor people rifle through your pockets and take what they want.

God gave us free will. If its a sin to not split my paycheck with the homeless person on the corner where I turn to go to work, then I'll just have to pay for it in the afterlife.

Finally, I wouldn't presume to legislate based on the morality of a sector of the populace.
