I did it that way with dips too. The dip bars were high enough off of the ground that the dumbbell didn't touch the ground. I don't bend my knees during dips unless I have to because of clearance issues.

You must have nicer equipment where you exercise.. most of the bars/setups I use for pullups/dips aren't high enough that I can extend my legs... My colleague can get away with it but he's like 5'7.

Yeah this was exactly what I was talking about! I do it on a few ab workouts like that

I dunno. The video that I posted of the guy doing lunges with Dana was built similar to this guy, and he was ultra-top heavy with short legs.

I agree if one needs to go above 60-80 lbs. But for the guy who asked he is far away from that.

My vest is tied via two straps on waist, not much pressure on shoulders.

For other exercises like push-ups and jumping rope you cannot use a belt.

Belt is imo a much better option for various reasons.

I did use one before, I would use it only if going above 60-80lbs
