Do I need to replace my video card?

Meh, I was dusting off my computer with a high psi compressor and I touched the blade by accident while cleaning the fan/heatsink out. Do you think the out of balance fan will cause any problems?

I got this card last year for 100. If I need to I have a 100 gift card so I can use that and pay 120 more for a gtx660

Did you break a fan blade? It not, you're fine.

Also, you can get aftermarket HSF combos for video cards. I broke a fan blade a year ago, and am now running cooler and quieter with an aftermarket setup.

Ahh, beat me to it. You broke a fan blade.

If you want the upgrade, sure, replace it. If not, run it into the ground. The fan's life will be reduced, but it should be ok for a while.

Edit: I went aftermarket, because it was like a $250 graphics card.

You could buy my GTX 480 for 150 dollars and get a nice upgrade.

I'll monitor the card and see how it does.

Break off the blade opposite from it.

Fan will be noisy, but if you balance it out the bearings shouldnt suffer too badly.

I used to volt mod my old video cards and this would usually necessitate aftermarket cooling. That's always an option but for $100 I would just get something new.

Krazy glued the fan blade on, sitting perfectly flush in the spot where it broke. No vibration anymore from the card.
