OEM Xenon/Interior light issue (common corrections done, including ballasts)
Hey there-
I, as per usual with OEM Xenons on an '03 325xi, have a flickering/dying passenger xenon. I first replaced the bulbs but the flickering persisted. I then grounded both tails with an extra ground. I then started losing both bulbs and my interior lights would flicker at idle. I ripped and replaced my alternator (old was throwing random voltage) as well as both ballasts. My passenger light still flickers! I switched the new ballasts from side to side and both are good. Also, my tail lights and driver side light have a slight flicker at idle as well, but voltage from battery/alternator checks out. Anyone have any ideas? At this point I have to imagine there's a short somewhere but I'm beyond frustrated with what else this could be and have no idea where to begin testing for a short. Trying to avoid dealership costs for an electrical exam.Any ideas? Thanks! Brian Sidenote- i can't thank this forum enough for saving me well over $3000 in repairs as i've gone through this and a fuel pump |
