Yes, particulary near the skirt, appears to be a bit more room in rear/bumper area. On my way to measure now....

Yes, the 6766 Dual BB.
Jake could you please post a few more pics of your setup, preferably from the back to see how it fits under your bumper? (here's a few more pics of 305's on InDiGlOM3 for reference)... Btw, checked today locally and the 285/40's were only Nitto 555 not the R's so cancelled that as I need to order them which will take time...

Jake are you by any chance running 0 rear camber? Is that possible with your setup? Also, did you have to do some serious pounding in the fender well or just light stuff?? As far as I gathered so far you're running 305/35/18 on 11" wheel w/ 38 offset from what I gathered too, Jesse's running 305/35/18 on 10" wheel w/ 33 offset so I guess the main reason for pounding the fender well in your case was the 11" wheels. Due to my recent disappointment with local availability of tires I think I'll go a tested route and get 11" rims with the 305/35/18 555R's as in your setup. That will increase both my contact patch as well as the side wall height so my current 3rd gear traction problems on R888 295/30/19 will most probably be sorted.

Jake your camber is prolly the reason for bad traction, or atleast not as good as you can be with your tire. Go zero on camber and itll increase traction and extend tire life. Sent from my PG86100 using Bimmer App

Thanks. I'd like to get some other views on that. The guy who set the car -drove professionally for 20+ yrs - indicated that this was better, b/c under load, a static zero setting actually becomes positive and reduces traction. I have no idea who is correct but would like to hear from others. Again, I have full traction in third. And when I spin in second, above about 1/2 throttle, it always tracks completely straight. I know of no one who has even close to full traction in second with the 6766. But I'm all hears.....

Jesse's right, but I think it's a bit more complicated than that and it has to do with both your camber plus ride height (which affects a few other suspension angles) when under load.
For more reading have a look here: http://www.modified.com/tech/0512_sc...4/viewall.html But DO talk to your guy and let us know as well as maybe he knows the E46 platform better ... who knows...

Cars with McPherson struts (such as ours) increase their static camber under wheel load and apparently we lose about +/- 1 degree of neg. camber depending on the car's setup. Here's where I got it from: http://www.trackhq.com/forums/f295/s...704/#post74682 http://www.trackhq.com/forums/f295/s...704/#post74687 So I'm planning to change my 0 degrees static camber to -1 for my street settings and see how traction changes under full load in 3rd gear. P.S: I also ordered a set of Hoosiers A6, in the same size 295/30/19 as my current R888 and I'm very curious how they perform given the same specs. I'm expecting the grip to improve to some degree due to the R888 being on the car for about a yr now but let's see. Will update.
