Thumbs Up Lee Doren Critique: "Tax the Rich" (vid shown in classrooms of rich pissing on poor)

soo many of you may have heard of the animated cartoon being shown in some classrooms that portrays the rich peeing on the poor....

a pretty good critique of the whole vid here by one of my fav libertarian, Lee Doren.

Didn't watch, and don't plan on it. I'll vote in my best interest, even if that means raising taxes on those who are wealthier than me.

Curious. Do you guys actually believe it is better to tax the wealthy and redistribute the wealth, or are you envious of their acquired wealth?

Did you believe it was approproate when the Bush administration presided over the largest shift of wealth (from the middle class to the 1%) in this nation's history?

No, I don't care if someone has more money than me, though I wouldn't mind being in that position. Why should I NOT vote in my best interest, especially when it could be argued what is best for me, is best for the majority?

I think, at this point, the most logical tax system is a progressive system. Taxes should eventually go up on everyone, but the timing of that is what's tricky.

Why would it matter if he did or didn't?

I think that is what frustrates people. Our rich pay more than everyone else's rich, our poor pay less than everyone else's poor. Our corporate rates are among the highest. Our capital gains rates are globally high (Germany has 0%).

Yet, according to some it is never ever enough. There is no end game where people will say "ok everyone is paying enough", there will always be demands for more more more. Remember, back in the Clinton days it was a millionaire tax. Not even 20 years later we're down to 250k. Guess what's next? On top of that, 250k isn't even close to what it was when Clinton was President.

On top of that, spending just keeps outpacing revenue like Usain Bolt racing Stephen Hawking

Why even give them 1%? Might as well just chain them to their desks and use them up like batteries!

I don't believe that at all. I want to know what our effective rates are in comparison to other countries.
