Help with tranny fluid change
Hey guys I want to change my 02 330xi auto (steptronic) tranny fluid. I went and look under my car and I have a green sticker with part number 83220024359. I bought redline D4 auto trams fluid. Did a bough the right one?

You should use dextron VI. You may call your local dealer or insert that part number into a dealer parts site and you will told the same.

D4 was a preferred choice for many XI owners with the GM trans. I've read several posts where it has been stated - D4 is VERY close to the original factory (Texaco) spec. It has been in more recent years that BMW recommended Dex VI as a replacement. D4 is known to blend well with the remaining fluid and be chemically compatible. User tested - user approved.
You're fine and D4 is going in my ride (74 K mi.) next spring.

Yup you're golden, many folks have used it with great results.
I used Liqui Moly top tec 1200 with good results so far (3k miles) It's spec'd on their tech sheet as a replacement for the Texaco 8072-b fluid we have. ZF lifeguard fluid is also spec'd a replacement fluid, but at around $17 a quart, not worth it. |

The Redline D4 should work just fine as long as there are no other internal issues. I would not recommend pressure changing the fluid.
