I haven't seen any codes since my fix either! Just did my engine mounts, about to do transmission mounts too. Got a whole list of maintenance I need to catch up on haha!

Oh Jesus... great. I bet it'll happen to me too, then. That's bad luck. I just got rear-ended yesterday too. Only bumper cover damage, but annoying to deal with.
Hm, what to attack next? Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX

I'll update this with a thought.. maybe buy a single ignition coil and switch each out, one by one, and run the engine in between. I've heard of people getting limp mode from ignition coils, and I've also heard of people (many people) having bad ignition coils on our e46's that don't throw codes.
Just a thought. My codes still have not returned. Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX

Might as well try it. Keep it updated. It sucks that you still have this going on.. just to be sure, you might as well clean out and tighten up both VANOS solenoid connections, and your MAF connection. Use some CRC MAF cleaner for all 3 and tighten them up by bending the actual 'inside' metal tab inward, so they make better contact. I accidentally bent the outsides of them in the first time and loosened them.. there are thin tabs inside the metal piece..
anyway, do that, it's an easy job. might as well? Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX

So a member on here showed me a link to a thread were a guy was having this same problem with the icv and took it to his mechanic. His mechanic figured out that one of the wires going to the icv was dead. I think this might be many of our problems.
I just do not know which wire it was or what the correct voltage should be or which is the ground and positive... Does any one here know by any chance? |
