srs question. what physique is likely from a hardcore pushup/bodyweight routine? Assuming you're starting with some mass and not a toothpick.

I think that depends a lot on diet but I'm sure you can get in pretty good shape doing just body weight stuff. You definitely will need to get creative though.

Body of an avid rock climber comes to mind ![]() Edit: if you think of it from a "scientific" point of view, the body is only forced to adapt when it is uncomfortable. Essentially the progression "wall" you create with bodyweight exercises is that you will be using the same weight each time... which is where weight vests / belts would need to come into the picture. Not sure if you were including those in your question

Definition no, that's based on body fat levels for the most part. Size & strength for sure, there's only so much muscle that can be built by the weight of your body... Using a bodyweight only routine would build an impressive physique in my opinion if you kept your bodyfat levels low, but you would never have that "bodybuilder" look since the muscles just have no reason (no 500lb+ squats etc) to grow to those extravagant levels.

Go to a cheaper gym. I'm actually surprised that there isn't a Fitness19 located in Dallas........but they have them in San Antonio, Houston and Austin?

Sounds like self-sabotage to me. Just giving you a hard time. Hopefully the apartment gym provides what you need.

If you need any help let me know, I have struggled to put on lean mass in the past and as a side effect added significant fat gain... but I'm very good at shredding it off and preserving what I've got for muscle already!
