Yeah, in most cases. Laptops are pretty modular these days.
Current video card (if it is even a card) will most likely work fine. You can verify by configuring a laptop online with your current choice of card and the higher resolution screen.

But yeah
The usb 3.0 will make transferring files from old laptops faster
