Just checking to see if anyone has dynoed an xi. Apparently we can press the DSC once, but can't hold down to turn off ABS and ABD-X, and CBC. How can you dyno the XI without turning these functions off, or is a single DSC press enough?

You need an AWD dyno or a hub dyno. Either way it's not worth it.

lol, awesome pic. ![]() How did you set the car up? Just a single press of the DSC? What gear did you run it in? Btw, you have a dyno graph you can post? They're so damn hard to find. I'd love to take a peek at yours

IIRC 255 awhp (they figured ~20% drivetrain loss because it was an awd/auto), 9 psi spraying water/meth. Car is an auto and it skewed the power numbers as they tried doing it in 4th but it kicked down to third (netting 336 tq lol) car picked up considerable power when i put headers in though. IIRC there where no dsc issues, but I wasn't there.

What kit did you have on that you have water/meth?

That graph looks crazy. Is that because of the shift down from 4th to 3rd? Custom tune?
Btw what SC kit you have and which meth kit?

Snow Performance boost dependant
Yeah the downshift to third made things weird, and the custom tune was done by AA, It was a second hand RMS kit that used a VORTECH blower. I went water meth to keep things cool as I couldn't fit an intercooler without some serious pipe work

does the water/meth kit REALLY adds more HP or is this no gain which is able to feel ... please answer unemotional, becouse i'll buy a snow performance kit, if your answer is: it adds more, and i feel it!
The Problem with a superchargerkit, without intercooling, is the hot air which is terrible for the engine and kills all boosts-gains becouse the engine is pinging and the ecu retards the ignition ... |

So yes, it REALLY allows for more HP. It doesn't produce it alone, but allows for significant alterations to a tune which will make more power.

btw LOVED the snow performance kit, used my windshield fluid wiper bottle as a reservoir and monitored my intake air temps (IAT) with an ODB2 reader (scangauge II) ![]() ![]() (7 psi pulley) Quote:

Alright, quick update. I was told that I need to be on rollers to get a good graph. The ADB-X keeps grabbing the brakes on the Dyno Dynamics dynos. Hopefully I'll get a dyno run on a Mustang Dyno this Sat or in two weeks. I'll post up what I get...
Thanks everyone for the posts. Good to see others have put the xi on the dyno!

Water/Methanol squirters? Fuel burn properties altered by voodoo chemistry? Pushing more timing advance by program hackery? You guys blow me away. My engine still scares me. Anything outside the stock operating parameters may be entering the danger zone they tell us. Reading these stupid forums scares me. Less than 10 percent of owners dare to step into the twilight zone of engine modification. You see purists up here demanding to only use BMW oil or anti-freeze. They claim any alterations to our highly engineered drive-train will result in fiery explosions. Should you require dealer service, when the tech looks at your modified car you'll be shunned and ex-communicated.
You 10 percenters offer hope to all. They're just a freakin' car after all. We should all should bolt on super-chargers and spray nitro-methane into these buggers. I'll bet some of your cars scoot like a banshee. Tuner madness should be received as leading edge information not just crazy talk. Keep on with your R&D gentleman, it's sure fun to read about and ponder tweaking our own a tad.

Alright guys, well here's my dyno graph. I went to Enhanced Street Performance in MA that had a Mustang dyno to skirt the differential problems I was running into on the Dyna Packs.
First thing we noticed was the AFR, it is WAY lean. I have a Active Autowerke Stage I kit on the XI and it's making good boost, but just not getting enough fuel after 4k on the RPM. I ordered a new fuel filter and fuel pump to see if this solves the problem. I'll post back when I find out more.
