Car is not starting 330xi

Recently my 330xi has been not starting after leaving it overnight. I changed the battery because I was not sure the last time it was replaced. The problem still occurred and I checked for lights staying on in the trunk glove box etc. No lights are staying on that I can see, Battery is good. Where and what could it be?

My car was doing that and it was a short in the radio. Go to advance and get them to try and recharge the battery and take the fuse out for the radio and see if that works.

Will your car crank?
Can you hear the fuel pump run when you first turn the key to the on position?
Are you getting fuel pressure at the fuel rail?
Are you getting a spark at the plugs?
Is your check engine light on?

It does crank and everything is actin normal, plugs are fine, and i never completely dies, so it cranks but doesnt have enough juice like the battery was drained by something it seems.

So you're saying the car cranks, but too slow in your estimation?

Have you used the OBC hidden functions to check the battery voltage? Let us know what you find?

If voltage is low, could be you have an excessive current drain when the car is off.

The car has been sitting for three days and I went to start again, all electronics were on and battery seemed normal. While it was crankin the headlight and taillight warning lights came on but they are not out. The EML light also is on. Is there anything i can do to fix this so I caj get it to at least start. Anything helpful or useful would be awesome.

See info on Hidden OBC Menu in signature below.

Also search FSU as this is common battery drain problem with these cars.

You could also have a fuel related problem as well, see 2nd link below in my signature.

I don't know what that means.

Start with the basics. A new battery often comes less than fully charged...you'd need to drive it a bit on the highway to get it fully charged.

As mentioned, measure voltage when car is off...and when on when you get it on.

Could be you drained battery from trying to start it when it was already weak and cranking just killed it more.

If a jump starts your car, drive for 20-30 mins. on highway.

Fuel gauge isn't always accurate...add gas if you're not sure of level (often it'll show 1/4 tank when you either don't have that 1/4, or it's in the wrong lobe.

FP does fail too, but start with battery, fuel, jump start...and see where you get. Check connection on battery too to make sure cable is tight. Pull up on it...sometimes the terminals are too small for our clamps.

I think JFOJ may have found it when he said FSU. I think he is referring to the final stage resistor (blower motor resistor). The original ones suck and always go out. Sometimes they can just drain power for no damn reason. Look up E46 final stage resistor DIY.

this can drain the battery to the point where the car will still crank? Jumping the car worked before, last time I tried to jump it, it didnt seem to work.Should I hook the cables up longer than usual for this problem?

Last night I went in my car while my car was off and discovered my heat was runnnin. Does this mean it is def the resistor? Can I take a fuse out for now so it will stop draining my battery?
