2 subs or one?

Guys, quick question..

I want sound quality in a system I'm about to build.

I have bought a Focal Utopia 33W 13in sub, should I exchange this for TWO 11" Focal Utopia subs? Which would gimme better SQ

I would go with 2, not only for sound quality, but for looks. Trunks with 1 woofer in them seem so incomplete.

Hahaha, I know what you mean.

dronell19, I personally do not think it matters between your choices. Judging how much SQ you will have "will depend on the install."

I have 1 JL W7 in my jetta....Sounds sick....but i wish i had another to help the woofer out....(hope that made sense)

I understand what you mean, but there are other solutions to "getting louder" other than simply adding another subwoofer. For example, you can revise your installation (if you have a sealed box, go with a well-built/tuned ported enclosure), add more power (if you're under-powering your subwoofer), etc.

personlly i'd say one maybe a 10, but i wouldn't wanna add that much weight in the back.

do you have a pic? my girl needs some bass in her jetta. she has an MKIV with the monsoon and i want to put one sub in the trunk.

yea i have the same setup....the w7 hits...she prob. wont need that much bass, and its pretty expensive...(650 w/ box, and amp is 500)...ill take a pic when i come back home...

she wont need near that much bass. a small ten will do, i just need ideas on placement. i'd appreciate the pic, thanks.

My setup is two JL Audio 12" W3V2s and a JL 500 Watt Amp. All this in a Bandpass box thats ported through the armrest. I would go with JL Audio IMO, they have clean bass.
