225x45x18 325xi wagon - tire fitment

I'm new here however I've been driving BMW 745i and Audi Allroad. I just recently sold the audi and just bought a 2003 325xi wagon. I purchased sets of rims and tires (tire size 225x45x18 and rim size is 18x8.5 offset 40).

The rims and tires is now in transit via UPS, for my peace of mind any of you guys have the same set up? Wanted to make sure it will NOT rub in the front and back. Please advise…

I have the CSL reps that are 18x8.5 with 225 40 18’s front and back that don’t come close to rubbing on Eibach Pro springs. Don’t remember the offset of the CSL reps, but you should be ok.

Hi,

I hoping NOT to replace or upgrade my suspension, can I leave it the way it is?? with 225x45x18 tires and 18x8.5 rims - it will stick out correct??

I would be concerned with possible rubbing up front with 225/45R18.

I only included that to show that mine don’t rub with dropped suspension, so stock suspension would be less of a concern. However, Gary would know for sure- what tires did you order?

BTW- I just looked at the variance between 40 and 45 series in the tires I run, and the 45 are an inch larger in diameter. That could be enough to make a difference.

That's taller than I'd recommend for your car. Should be 225/40/18.

You might have some rubbing.

Same size for a 328i sedan ?

Yeah... the difference between 225x45 and 225x40 is less than 1 inch or 0.8 inch taller - so I'm hoping it won't be a problem, but IF I have some rubbing do know if will be at front or back or both?? Can I use spacer to fix that??
