I like it, so I left it in, but it's pretty neat how easy it is to disable it without drilling out hardened pins and cutting the column as most people do. Almost like BMW intended it to be that easy...

I paid about $200 to have an aftermarket clear back put on my watch. 700 isn't rediculious for factory. Is it the same movement? I.e. do they put a nicer more polished version in the one with a clear back?

Personally, I don't either, but it's out of my range, movement is the same, and for some reason the solid back is more desirable anyway:

Yeah, I looked it up, 125 ft-lbs.

That 1/4" hex can only handle so much.

That's inside the solid back one. Either way I'm happy, display back isn't a must or a deal-breaker.
