M3 hood on ZHP coupe - it can be done!
Been researching this for the past week and noticed alot of back and forth about "is it possible?" I stumbled on a great deal for an OEM M3 hood via CL and got it on today. I had one on my old 330 but couldn't swap hoods in time
![]() The fitment is about an 8.5-9/10. It's about as good as it gets without any modification (only need a ratchet and a torx bit). Took about 45 min. of tweaking the guides screws and pulling the fender about about 2-3 cm. There's a small gap above the headlights towards the inside (kidney grills) but its not that noticeable. I got some rubber lining and 3M double-sided tape that I'm going to use to close it a bit. If all goes well it should look like an extension of the rubber headlight lining. Let me know what you guys think

![]() Thanks man. It'll look a lot nicer once I get the black kidney grills and angel eyes in. Here's my old 330ci with the same setup. God I miss that thing.... Bumper still for sale BTW haha

I don't know. I can't decide whether I like it, I don't love it or hate it. Its just kinda there and barely noticable. Possibly out of place, but whatever, its unique I guess.

Definitely, looking at the picture of your first car the black kidneys really make that hood look good.

x2. sorry not sure i like it yet, will wait for other photos to decide. but for now it just doesn't look right to me. and this is coming from someone who retrofitted an oem M3 hood on my non-M coupe years ago.

Fitment is deffinetly off but not as bad as I thought it would be, especially since I'm anal about that stuff... If you like it great, but I know if it was me that would annoy the living hell out of me.. Good luck !

It's definitely not going to be perfect. But way off? That's a little exaggerated don't you think?

It should still need some shims under the fender to raise it to line up flush to the M3 hood(which is taller) than non-Ms. where it meets the front fender tip is going to be an issue where I don't think it can be fixed more. But heck it does look pretty good from a distance. just the front lines seem off with the lines of the facelift headlamps. look forward to see it adjusted more and grill blacked out.

It doesn't look that bad to me. Personally I love the M3 hood but I don't know if I would go through all the trouble just to have a " bulge " on my non-M hood ya know? Never the less good work.

That's the thing, it's not as much trouble as people make it out to be. Overall it took 1.5 hours with nothing but a torx bit and some elbow grease. The hood was a trade (traded an unpainted CSL boot lid) but between $400-500 is a good deal.

I dunno, my eye is immediately drawn to the power bulge, but there doesn't seem to be any other lines on the car to compliment it. It's just there. May look better in person, I suppose.
