Car looks good. I went ahead and ordered the Bilstein Touring struts/shocks. We'll see how they turn out.

I went ahead and took the struts apart that night-- It turns out the strut wasn't in all the way. The struts have 2 pin looking guides that are supposed to sink in till the second pin goes in. I had to use a jack and hit the sides of the spindle for it to go in all the way..trial and error. I think you'll be fine. I love the way Bilstein struts perform ,haha. I also replaced the lcab's and the car is just so tight right now, love it.

Alright so Sunday is the big day for my E46. Doing the strut install along with the tie rod assemblies and the steering guibo. Question on the struts though; do you push those two pins on the strut in the knuckle where the small gap is? Pretty sure that's the only way the strut would fit into the knuckle but wanted to make sure. Also, how did you get the strut to seat correctly after you realized it wasn't all the way in? I'm very excited for this to happen and my car should drive like brand new once I get my RTAB done as well.
Thanks!

The 2 pins go exactly where you mentioned. Just make sure you push it in all the way and it'll seat naturally by itself.

The 2 pins weren't seated in all the way, so that was the problem. Other than that, you're good to go! It's easy! Good luck.

They went in great. Took all day pretty much with some friends but we got it done. Like idiots we forgot to tighten up the 22mm strut bolt so the car makes the worst racket going over any kind of bumps in the road. I'm gonna get that taken care of tomorrow and it will be much better. With stock springs car looks a little higher but not as bad as your original pictures showed.

Wait a second, you're driving around with a loose strut on the spindle? Not a good idea! If you hit a big bump and it rebounds enough to make it come off you're in for a lot of trouble. Fix it stat! It's fast and easy!

Yeah I've been going real easy on the car. Didn't discover that I had messed up until I drove a little bit down the road and heard the clunking noise... long day lol. Question, what did you use to tighten yours down?

I got them tightened up with a 22mm ratchet and a 7mm Allen key and it's great. The drivers side sits about 1/4" higher than the passenger but its not noticeable unless you stare at it. If it doesn't settle I will reseat the spring.
