OEM NAV Screen Stuck Open As If Ejecting Cassette

Hi all,

I was driving along tonight and noticed that my screen has decided to tilt as if to eject a tape from the cassette player (widescreen on a 2002 M3). I've tried hitting the eject button, turning the car off and back on and nothing. The electric motors are going as if they are trying to eject the tape / move the screen down. I can force the screen back up without having to apply too much pressure but the screen then tilts straight back down.

Really annoying for obvious reasons.

I've tried a search but couldn't find anyone with a similar issue. Any ideas? I don't even use the tape deck as I've got an Intravee II so I don't even mind a solution that will prohibit the thing from ever tilting again..

Cheers guys.

Update: Went to go disconnect the battery but the car has fixed itself overnight...
