Wood trim is nice.
If you don't like it maybe someone will want to trade trim if you place an ad. Or buy different trim. Or get it wrapped. Or get it dipped. Or get it painted. Not even close to a deal breaker.

makes sense because the Premium Package was so ubiquitous. Last edited by Stinger9; 12-29-2012 at 07:55 PM. |

Funny, around here when I was shopping for my 330, wood seemed to be the rare find, the silver ones were a dime a dozen.. I shopped for about a year without commitment and about 3 months committed, searching generally between about Nanaimo BC and Portland Oregon and I'd guess a good 80% of the 330Ci's I found online were silver trim.

Wood and leather go well together. Leather and wood is good.

Front is gloss and wood. Back is metal. As it doesn't feel sporty because you're not driving a sports car. It's an entry level luxury sedan. Buy an m3 and never worry about wood again because that is a sports car

The back door trim will take itself off, that makes it pretty easy.
I am wondering about OP wanting an e46 though, as there are much more challenging things to work on than trim. The trim is the least of your worries when looking for a used car. Good Luck. |

Many M3 owners would argue that the M3 isn't a sports car, but the Z4MC is.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I am no longer concerned about the wood, as finding a clean 330 ZSP with the 6-speed manual is hard enough. I might need to start considering 325s because of financial reasons. I do know that the wood is real (at least it was real on my E36 M3 w/ Luxury Package). Also, wood trim does not distinguish a car as either sports or luxury. There are many objectively defined sports cars that can be ordered with wood trim. Even though E46s are entry level luxury cars, I also consider them sport sedans, coupes, etc. Last edited by EmDeeAr; 12-30-2012 at 10:16 AM. |
