i don't mind the colored shoes I just don't like that style. it's way too busy to also be an odd color. check out the new lobb x Paul smith collection for example. Good example of colored shoes done right. Hint: subtlety in design and cut.

I think you need to keep in mind that the Neumok is a rough finished balmoral that comes with colored laces. It's supposed to be unusual, maybe a bit ironic, etc...brown is conservative. For once, I suggest NOT going with the conservative option. Get olive.

And if you're going to wear an unusual shoe like the Neumok, you should absolutely use whatever odd colored laces they provide. That's the whole point.

Their starting price is what most people take home in two weeks. They sure as hell better do colored shoes (and everything else) right.

Also, I'd suggest the Neumok is about as wild as these PSxJLs, as the Neumoks are more subtle in color and less subtle in cut, while the PSxJLs are the opposite.

Only if I had a dozen other balmorals in various colors then I might think about picking up one of the funkier colors

But if the westbourne is priced like other john lobbs, then I'd look elsewhere for my fun dress shoes

The Westbourne is very nice.

I'm curious who will buy these. Spending $1200 on a pair of JLs is one thing, if they're a staple shoe that will last you from here till eternity. I'd think you have to be at a higher income level to justify that spend for something that will probably look silly in a couple years.

In my mind, it's a summery dress shoe. I wear brighter colors in summer and I think they'd be good with slim chinos and a gingham shirt. I wanted the blue ones but the last doesn't work for my feet.

1. the olive Neumoks are so popular that they are sold out
or
2. AE was trolling its customers when it put out the olive Neumoks and didn't actually expect anyone to buy them so they do not have any in stock

AE trolled me, that's for sure. You'd think that they would let you know of any backordered things during the checkout process, but they don't, I guess. I don't mind waiting a week. 5 weeks, not so much.

I think I'm going to cancel my order tomorrow and order from Amazon. Free 2 day shipping is much better.

Edit: Ordered from Amazon. I'll have the shoes in a few days :-)

^do you like the superdry jacket? i never heard of superdry until i lived in london last year; the brand is really really popular there. i checked out a store and really liked the style of their clothing, but the quality seemed to be really lacking relative to the price, kind of like a more urban-styled abercrombie.

I got the jacket for $100 plus tax. Seems great for the price. I'm very happy with it.
