This. The money is fine, particularly for a young guy, but to me it wouldn't leave any time for much else. I have a family, so my personal time is of far greater importance than working 7x12 shifts to make some extra money.

+1...you can always find people who make more money and it sometimes makes you think what the heck am I doing wrong. I really just try to take a step back and realize how fortunate I am.

Good to see some CPAs here. I just passed all 4 parts of the exam itself and looking to transition into a CPA firm soon.

4500-7000/month before taxes. i work in sales with base salary plus commissions. 12% 401k, i was making 34k.yr before this job so since i am so used to living on such little wages that with this much bigger income i save a lot.

I am only making $2000 a month on a salary with a bonus between $500-$1000 a month before taxes. Not much but it is what it is right now. I work in sales. Also what helps is that I get $1500 a month from the V.A. 70% disabled vet.

The thing that kills me is that I have a $800 child support payment. I love my kids and they are worth every penny and more.... Its just that the exchange rate kills me(euro to dollars)....

Do not need much, I am slowly building up a savings (few hundred right now) and my checking keeps growing as well. So I am happy, but would love more money....

I feel this thread is worthy of a quote from the Dalai Lama himself.

Nice quote, and he may be right.

I'm going to Australia for 2 weeks next month. I'm just gonna relax with my family and do WHATEVER I want with the money he speaks of. Not all of us are not living. And no matter what anyone says, money does help with happiness.
