It's pretty amazing, every vintage of it. It is very hot when young, so give it a year or two.

$200 amazing? That's your call. If it was $100 or less it would be an easy purchase.

The going price on ebay is more than that. You could have made a few bucks.

Interesting. I don't know if I'd even want to put in all the work for 1 gallon, even if it was extract.

It was a gift and my first attempt at brewing. At worst, I screwed up and have the starting equipment to scale up to a full 5 gallon setup. At best, I didn't screw up and have a gallon of IPA and have the equipment to scale up to 5 gallons.

Just an FYI - it never stops. There's always something else to build or buy.

Is that the Brooklyn Homebrew kit? I did the IPA and loved it. Just as good as, if not better than, many on the retail shelves.

I know, and I'm looking forward to it. A lot of my friends brew pretty regularly and I've been wanting to get into it for awhile now, just never took that first step.

It is, that's good to hear. I was talking to one of my friends when I was brewing and he mentioned he never actually used grain before, always an extract, so I'm interested to see if we can taste the difference.

This was my second batch of homebrew a few months ago. I was going for a belgium wheat ale similar to Blue Moon. It turned out ok.

Pick up this book Scott. It goes through all of the science behind the processes. Someone with a mind like yours will probably enjoy it.
