Yeah, they do rather suck at everything. Pricing, service, and selection are all mediocre to poor, but I guess when you make $20 on a $6 part you can suck at a lot of things.

Because diesels are heavy and don't make much power, compared to their gasoline equivalent. Americans use most light trucks and suvs like passenger cars and want to go fast, which power does.
