330i hydrolic lifter noise *now with vid*
hey all. bought a 2000 model 330i a few weeks ago.
The lifters are pretty noisy, from cold and when warm. Soon as i bought it i fully serviced it with genuine bmw parts/oil etc. flushed the oil aswell. The noise has improved but still very loud. anyone reccomend any additives? it has done 175,000miles.... Last edited by mrmattholmes; 12-29-2012 at 05:27 AM. |

You sure its the lifter noise?
Many people mistaken disa noise,cold injector noise for a lifter tick.

can vanos rattle but not effect performance?
car pulls strong all the way through revs etc and has no other symtoms of the vanos |

That doesn't sound like any VANOS rattle that I've ever heard

thats what i thought.... ive got exhaust manifold gaskets anyway that i got with the car so ill change them and see its any better as it does sound like its blowing a lil

What happened to the video? Because my car is making a weird ticking sound and I want to know if it's the same!!!
