First shoot with my new canon t2i

I purchased my first camera a few days ago. Canon t2i with a 50mm 1.8 lens. I'm slowly teaching myself how to use it ! Here are my first few shots I've taken of my 2001 m3. Please leave feedback and constructive criticism! Click image for larger version

Car looks great. Best color combo IMO. As far as the pictures themselves the ideas and locations you find/come up with are great.
But the actual picture doesn't come out that well. I don't know much about cameras or photography for that matter so cant help you. lol
But there are a lot of fanatics on this forum that know tons and tons.

Not bad but they lack color and look bland because of that. What are you editing them with?

nicely done. I can give you my opinions on all of them and what I feel can work and what I find draws me to car photography.

Pic 1 - could be more in focus and let the car fill more of the frame. Are you shooting handheld?
pic 2 - I would straighten the picture out as it looks crooked.
pic 3 - I actually like this one. I would've probably put the car in the center of the road and shot it at a lower angle.
pic 4 - This one is good as well. Only change is again put the car in the center of the line or even across the line. But overall this one is pretty good.
pic 5 - you did good on this one.
pic 6 - Good here as well.

Keep up the good work. One thing that'll work is either up your shutter speed as to avoid camera shake or use a tripod.

Thanks for the feedback ! Everything was shot handheld. I've yet to purchase a tri pod.

My Ride: is totaled
this is probably the best value for a good tripod
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
i bought this after getting a recommendation from another member in this subforum (probably glockman?)
and i love it
it is very sturdy and it lets you position the camera in so many ways
the real nice feature is being able to spread the tripod legs all the way so you can get it really close to the ground
some tripod have a ... "tether" or frame that does not let the legs spread beyond a certain angle

The shots you have with the car off-centre are pretty good - composition wise. With a little post, they could really pop.

The shots with the car centered in the frame look like snapshots, and nothing horribly exciting. They're the kind of photos you would take for the AutoTrader.
