iono, i feel like that is only the case with the larger laptops (14+ inches). for the ultraportable market, it's always been lower resolution with only the high end ultraportables having the higher res (1080p).

what sucks now is the quality of the lcd panel. i hate the damn TN panels, except for the one on the sony z 1080p one. those are the only good TN panels with accurate color reproduction.
