The Gen 2 is an improvement and has a better look and some features like a flared magwell and integrated Trigger guard which are nice. The Gen 1 looks like every other lower out there...nothing too asthetically different.

Ok. Purchased a Noveske Gen I lower. Wanted a gen 2 but the price difference (2X) just isn't worth it to me. Now looking/bidding on a Spike Tactical Punisher. I know I know, I'm just a sucker for punisher anything.

Someone please clarify something for me......when the ban goes into effect, besides the lowers, everything else will be legal to manufacture and purchase right???

Definitely don't overpay for a spikes imo. Their quality control has been spotty better off buying another noveske imo. I have 5 spikes lowers coming i got cheap $90 each after shipping/transfers which will all be sold /traded for other lowers

How could any of us know this? Legislation hasn't even been introduced yet.

I was under the impression that only lowers get banned? How can they ban the rest of the parts? What if my legal ar breaks (ie upper, barrel, stock, etc) I won't be able to buy a replacement? I know you don't know the coming legislation, just asking based on experience from the last one.

Figured I'd share this with everyone. I pre ordered two. At this price, I have nothing to lose.

What will be regulated will depend on what receiver you have. If you have a pre-ban receiver, you won't- or at least SHOULDN'T- theoretically have any restrictions. If you have a post-ban receiver, you will not be allowed to have a flash hider, collapsible buttstock, bayonet lug, pistol grip or thumbhole stock, or a quick magazine release button (to include bullet buttons).
This is supposing they get everything they want.
Now, this is stupid for several reasons:
-Flash hiders will be banned, but compensators and brakes would not. They do damn near the same thing.
(this is actually why Paul Buffoni had the BCM Gunfighter comp classified as a comp and not a flash hider)
-the number of bayonet deaths in the US is still at zero last I checked
-collapsible AR stocks quickly reduce or increase length of pull. So do most modern bolt action rifle chassis like CADEX Strike-33 (used in the XM2010/MSR and Mk15 rifles) and the AI AX AICS chassis. The chassis are not illegal though.
-Thumbhole stocks would be illegal, but a vertical grip angle on a Manners or McMillan bolt action stock is more of a pistol grip design than a thumbhole. Thumbhole stocks are actually slower too.

Basically, it's all libtard bullshit.

Ok, step one complete. Bought a Noveske Gen1 lower, and just won a Spike Punisher lower on GB....and bought two from the pre-order link I posted earlier. Will probably sell the two preorders later on, and will build the other two. Thanks a ton for the help guys.

I've had 3 Spikes lowers and have not had a problem. IMO spending 400 on a lower is a waste of money. It's just a piece of aluminum. I have no heard of any major issues with any of the major manufacturers. As long as your LPK and upper fit, then you are good to go. I've shot close to 4000 rounds through one of my Spikes lowers and it has been fine. You should spend more money on a nice upper.

The Noveske cost me $399. The spike cost me $380. Thats the going rate for a lower right now. I have two "regular" no real name lowers coming at $150 a pop, but those are on a pre-order. That's the market. The spike lower I paid $380 for has a retail price of $89.99 but again, you can't get one. So, it's either I overpay, or get shafted when the ban hits, and I can't buy anything other than a pre-ban lower for $1500. Banned items cost a LOT more.
