SAC and TAC were renamed in 1992ish when the USAF formed AMC, ACC, AFSC... etc. These commands still essentially exist, just under a different umbrella.

Doesn't matter. SecDef sends a recommendation for closures to a presidentially-appointed independent panel for review. After review, the president has approval/disapproval power, then congress gets their shot.

Blaming BRAC onClinton is ridiculous. BTW, I was wrong earlier. Clinton oversaw one and a half BRAC cycles.

I don't vote and probably never will. The system is broken, doesn't work, I don't believe in it. We're fact regardless of who's in charge and I still have to make ends meet regardless of who's in charge. I don't believe my vote makes a difference so I don't waste my time.
I think the military is staying no matter what, and I think how I am and what I do, I will be ok even if they start cutting it more, plus there are other options out there.
I think regardless of what side he's on i ultimately still take orders from my commander in chief so why waste my time worrying about politics. I think with the kind if jobs I always end up with in the military if I get wrapped up in the politics and my guy isn't the boss it will slowly start to affect my commitment to the job and with what I do, or I'm trying to do, that's the last thing you want going down on a mission. It's one less distraction, one less doubt in your head. One less worry.
Politics and military don't mix. Them top brass they get paid to mix and handle the two, not me so I stay away from it.

Clinton gave the miltary the 3 largest pay raises in history, and gave the troops overall more raises % in his terms than any presedent in history. I rember getting 6 to 8% raises ever year for a few.

Thoes cuts started with Bush Sr. I was living in RAF Little Rissington, and there were massive shut downsm this way years before Clinton came into office

The MAJCOMS were re-structured in 1992ish... I was on active duty when it happened, and its something I had to know to promotion test in the USAF for years. Not sure if you quoted the right person or not

I know cuts happened under Bush Sr, but the restructure of AF MAJCOMS came in 1992

I claim an independent but like most people I am a mixture of both sides. I also tend to focus more on foreign policy/politics over domestic policy/politics.
