Nah. I really dislike weight belts. For me personally.

I agree. It's uncomfortable but lower back problems are a fairly common injury so I just suck it up. I won't use it if I'm deloading however

Nice lift BMW.
Felt strong today until I did DL as I couldn't get 395 off the floor. Think my form was off today as I hit my knees a few times and could feel it in my lower back on my last two sets. DLs never bothered my lower back before. Maybe only afterwards for a few moments when I just finish my last set and am re-racking the weight. At least I beat the new years crowd though....that is until I tried to get on a treadmill. Last edited by Sensi09; 01-15-2013 at 05:19 AM. |

One thing that really helps out a lot is spending 10-15 min on a solid warm up. If my hips are tight I end up compensating with my upper body/back instead of my legs/hips like I should. This has led to me feeling it in my lower back a few times
Some exercises that help me alot are wall balls and goblet squats. Jump squats are cool too

I agree! A bit more external hip rotation and he'd pull 550!
P.S. I'm up to 450 lbs. for 2 reps now.....and still climbing!

I'm getting a pizza tonight too. Supplementing my lack of protein with shakes lol. I get a generic diogriono pizza and it's amazing.

You can do it! It took me about 3 months to hit the 450+ range (..starting at 225 lbs.). You've got it in you!

I got damn close to getting 410lbs last week, but I was kind of overshooting (trying to keep up with my 5'10" 250lb friend). I should be able to get 400 today, and if my trend continues, 450lbs by June-ish should be quite attainable!

I think you should just slap on 4 plates and do 405 lbs.; that 5 lbs. isn't going to significantly impact your lift.
