Putting on some shoes tomorrow, feel free to pitch in

Recently I purchased some nice style 42 reps. Wheels were used on m3 by a guy that had like three BMWs and an audi. Nonetheless wheels are almost brand new out of the box.

Tomorrow I plan to put some tires on them until I get wheels that I love.

So the specs are listed below as well as tire sizes I plan
Fronts 19x8.5 ET38 with 255/40/19
Rears 19x9.5 ET38 with 275/40/19

From what I read on other forums 255/275 on 8.5/9.5 (respectively) will improve grip, somewhat protect wheels (rims) because of width but they also wear out quicker on the outside.
245/265 on same wheels are the opposite with a chance that they might look even better.

Also something was mentioned about pinching the tire with 255+/275+, not sure what was meant by that. And one last thing, it will be fitted on a e46 with m3 spec wheel arches/well.

Maybe someone can pitch in before I shoe the wheels.

your going to rub a **** load on the rear.... i run 265/30/19 on my back tires and i rub with either to many people in the back seat or on a big dip. the car is stock springs and struts too. my fronts run perfect though but are 235/35/19 and we have the same rim sizes except my offset is +35 front +45 rear for a flush rim/fender look.

ps my rear fenders are rolled in half way up and i still rub lmao... but once i lower my car im going to 245 rear and 225 front so i never have to rub again. hearing your car rub makes you tear, trust me...

Can you put staggered wheels on a 325? I thought you couldn't.

If your lowered that tire combo will come no where near fitting without alot of fender/camber work, those 40 series tires are too tall and 255-F/275-R are too wide. 225(235)/35/19 F and 255(265)/30/19-R will have a better chance. You can put staggered wheels on any RWD car, but what are M3 spec wheel arches?

Stop now before it's too late. Your car will be ruined and nobody will be impressed. That setup will do absolutely nothing to your car but cause problems! How about some proper fitting wheels?? Modbargains has nice selection of sporty reps that won't require you to hack your car!

I thought 19" can be fitted pretty nicely onto M3 and look somewhat decent. No? I'm saving up for some nice 18" i have been looking at but genuine are around 3k so meanwhile I thought 19" might do for daily drive. By the way at the moment using style 96 which have been scraped good, then plastidipped. You be the judge

Totally agree, but at the time I have to work with what I got. And yes, the car is mine.

Personally, I would go for some super lightweight 17's, that won't slow your car to a crawl. A 325 simply does not have the power to spin some heavy 19' wheels, and you are going to be all show, and no go. Unless you are willing to pay the price for some really lightweight 18' or 19' wheels, then you are going to just be slowing your car down, and wearing the hell out of your suspension. But, I have the feeling that you are more about show than go, so have at it. There are going to be a lot of family sedans and maybe a minivan or two that smoke your a$$ at some red lights though.

Wow those wheel and tire specs are all wrong haha. Massive tires for this car.

I'd be interested in seeing finished bodywork pics though.
