I just bought an M54 rail with purple top injectors for $100. It's in the basement waiting me me to install it. That conversion will be coming when I get the fuel filter.

Good stuff, I definitely think it'll be worthwhile to do the injector swap on these M52tu's once we start making much more power. If BMW saw fit to have higher flow injectors in the 330, then it only makes sense that we need them too once we reach/surpass the 330's power numbers.

If anyone cares, here's my very slow progress thread on the Evo. Slowly but surely.

http://forums.evolutionm.net/all-mit...g-my-viii.html

And the e46 is running super well. It's nice to drive it stock for a bit. Really enjoying it, actually. That being said, I don't think I've seen the end of modding this car. It's just on hold for right now One day you'll see this thread bumped and we'll have some fun.

Looking great, something tells me you won't be happy with moderate power though...and you'll be upping boost in no time with all that it entails.

Enjoying the Evo build...are you a self made mechanic?? I'm impressed...from a NA BMW to a Turbo Mitsu...I know from personal experience there's not to much on turnin wrenches in an Accounting program!

Well, technically I went from a turbo mitsu to a twin turbo Nissan to a borrower Volvo to the bimmer. I've just come full circle. You learn to do a lot when your eyes are bigger ham your wallet. I can do twice as much when I do it myself. More rewarding, too.

I never planned on keeping in stock... I just want to start there! Fun to have a baseline to build on. It'll give me a good opportunity to learn the tuning on the car and really have fun with minor upgrades. Bang for your buck.

Ya, fair enough. I like having a nice baseline to work from as well. I'm just thinking that given the results of this thread and the fact that your car is turbo'd to begin with....

I don't know where I'd stop if I could make power that easily. Its like meth is to addictive drugs.

I think I'm going to enjoy the Evo out of the box...

Here's a little dyno comparo. Red is the best pull I made in the e46. Blue is a runfile of a totally stock Evo VIII (not mine). That's before even a basic tune.

Not at all. Headwork and a good tune and it'd be even better.

My search for more NA power (Dyno time)

After driving the evo for a few days I got into the e46 to take my son to school. Felt like a boat in comparison.

I still like my 330, but this
Car is fuuuuuun.
