I think they're signed with the BBC for another 3-4 seasons..who know what will happen after that. Clarkson's not exactly on the cusp of his prime.

I think he is. Clarkson has more fans now than he ever did.

I agree top gear has at least another 3-5 seasons probably more than that....everyone I talk to or have met know about or watch top gear.

What he said could be taken two ways. He could have meant that Clarkson is past his prime or more than likely he meant that Clarkson is not yet at his prime.

Actually, I don't know of any SINGLE show (not counting American Idol, UK Idol, etc) that has even remotely the amount of viewers of Top Gear.

Given their popularity I think he's in his prime right now along with the other two but it can only last so long. Who knows what will happen after their contracts are up. Clarkson's going to be about 58 I think. I'd like to think they'll sign-up for another but good things only last so long as do their bodies. I'm disappointed that they don't do their own driving sequences anymore whether it's because they physically can't or because they just don't have time.

What do you mean by driving sequences?

I mean during their track reviews, when they show exterior clips of the car doing drive bys, the windows would be all blurred out when it's not Clarkson, Hammond or May behind the wheel. Or at least that's what I think..I suspect they'll drive up and down the track doing their script, do a power slide or two, then the rest of the clip is filler with someone else driving.

Seems unlikely, unless they missed a shot they needed and need a reshoot. The cars they drive are press cars, which are given out generally by hour. If they get the car for say 5 hours, most likely the boys would want to drive them around, however, like I said, if they need a re-shoot or some additional shots, they might use another driver just to get those shots. I know they don't drive back from the crazy trips (they just fly home ie North Pole, Romania, Botswana, etc) but other than that, I'm pretty sure it's all them.

Seems like they've been doing a mix of them driving and stunt driving for awhile. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to whatever they have in store.

wasnt there a christmas special that was supposed to be coming out soon as well? i know there were talks of it being delayed. I know we had the worst of the worst special but no christmas special.

Honestly, don't give a crap. It makes sense that the pros make the shots more exciting. The production value of Top Gear UK (compare it to the others) is almost Holywood. It entertains and delivers every time....the US one is getting a bit better, but still not even close.

And the BBC says exactly that: "When Jeremy, James and Richard are seen driving on the show, it is them driving, but on occasion, the crew may need to go back and get pick-up shots."
