Does anyone know anything about autocross around here?

Many do. They're just rarely on here anymore.

I been trying to get into an autocross event to try it. I know every now and then you can so it at RIR but in not sure if it is open to the public anymore.

Hey guys. From San Diego, Ca, checking into Hampton Roads. Getting a feel for all the potholes in the roads here.

I so not miss them bumpy ass roads. My vert would be taking a beating in 264. Ugh.
Roads down here are soooo much nicer.

I already have. Upon coming here, no known suspension noises. After taken repeated beatings around the Naval Station area and practically every where I've driven here for the past month and a half had a noise coming from the rear passenger side and sure enough, my RSM went.

shouldnt have that issue.. most of us havent had RSM failure, even those lowered the most, as we run aftermarket ones.

welcome to the area, I think your RSM is coincidential but the roads do have a lot of character here

The two main ones in Hampton Roads are http://www.tidewatersportscarclub.com and http://www.odr-scca.org, both of which hold most of their events at Pungo airfield (small and poor condition concrete lot, which is still a lot of fun). You'll generally see similar groups show up to both clubs' events - combined, there's about one event every 2 weeks from March-ish to Nov-ish.

Out towards the Richmond area, http://www.vmsc.org often has events at VMP, which is a much better venue (and RIR too, maybe?).

Rear shock mounts are cheap, and easy to do yourself.

Also, Search for Hampton roads BMW ///M owners on facebook. Or if you have facebook, shoot me a message or something and I'll invite you. Most of our local meetups or events are organized through there.

Warm weekend coming up.. Looking forward to replacing FCABs, brake sensors, coolant flush, oil change, windshield washer pump replacement and drivers side window motor needs fixing. Then shes getting a nice bath.

Ha, username is ancient and I guess I'm sticking with it. I cut my teeth on one - it was my first car, and I had it for 6-7 years. Couldn't get out of its own way, but I loved that thing and it treated me really well.
