Obamacare - protecting the right to bear arms

VERY INTERESTING

It seems that in their haste to cram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Barack Obama overlooked Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.

I read more about it and it's not what it seems. Collecting the data this refers to has been protected since the 80's.

Yeah what exactly does that mean? Ammo registration doesn't matter to me. Gun registration, on the other hand, does. What, exactly does the bill forbid? I would think NFA registration is firearm registration, no? Does that mean they can't require registration of "assault weapons"? Confused

Yep, put into place by Harry Reid! Essentially it protects people from doctors documenting if a person owns firearms. Or for that matter even asking.

Can they repeal that provision without repealing the whole bill?

Highly unlikely. Even if the provision didn't exist the individual can lie or simply refuse to answer.

You go to the doctor and he is asking you questions about health. Sometimes doctors ask about things around your house and recommend safety precautions. In the case of this provision it would be illegal for them to document whether you have guns when asked. Some people are stating that the wording may even make it illegal for doctors to ask if you own guns.
