They've already come down a little in isolated spots. Still a little ridiculous though. Supply is also still hurting
Best bet is to find someone not up with technology (Internet) and buy from them used. I picked up an AR last week for a great price.
Parking lot transfer. Gotta love PA

Edit: Shortly after the sale... a tidal wave swept it from my hands and washed it away... never to be seen again

Are the "losing your gun at sea" jokes in reference to them proposing that current gun owners register their guns? Then you'll just say they're at the bottom of the ocean? Lol

jokes?

I almost drown! If I didn't dump the 10,000 rounds of ammo (everything I own) I was carrying in my fanny pack... I would've went down like a brick

Lol well ill just assume that that's what it's about then. At least the one and only gun to my name is safe and sound in a creek where I dropped it today during "rapid kayaking time"

I find this silly, especially when living in a state with no gun registration.

Anyways, great looking builds. How did you like Magpul's carbine video?

Can't find anything around this part of Pa. Including 9mm ammo.

If you're looking for ammo for self defense and don't have any, Id be happy to send you a box. No one should be left without means of protection.

Search classifieds of gun forums. You gotta be FAST! Cause others will jump on it. If you find someone that isn't aware of all the stuff going on, you won't get raped in price. I "overpaid" by standards of a couple months ago, but for today's standards... I hit a home run

Also interested on your opinions if I should look for an AR lower, even if it ends up being 350 to 400...

Getting the itch to get a new rifle. Trying to decide whether to build a rifle, or buy a premium grade setup.
Couple options I'm batting around:

KAC SR-15E3 IWS Mod1 (30351): $2050

or

LWRCI M6A2 SPR 16.1": $2479

or

LWRCI M6A2 SPR 16.1" Upper: $1900

or

Custom build with:
BCM lower
Geissele Super TRICON trigger
16" BCM SS410 midlength barrel assembly or Noveske Lightweight Contour SS 16" Barrel
Geissele MkII 15" rail
BCM Gunfighter Mod4 CH
BCM Gunfighter Mod0 grip

Not sure which way I want to go yet. I'm heavily leaning towards the KAC or LWRCI.

Did the Trident class change your tune on LWRC and piston set ups in general, or just LWRC?

No it's ficked up. I'm a hurricane sandy victim and my safe was 1st floor at my parents house. All "assault rifles" must be registered by January FYI.

I have nothing against piston if it's done correctly. I was skeptical about LWRC based on a lot of information I had been getting, but after doing more research, it looks like LWRC turned it around after they went out and got their ISO 9000 and other QC certifications. They had a lot of teething problems, but it sounds like all the bugs have been worked out now. They also have scored some pretty lofty contracts with numerous militaries, including the Jordanian Army with the M6A2, and a SOF contract with the UCIW Six8 (matched with the Federal/ATK XM68GD load and Magpul).
I'm gaining a lot more faith in them than I had last year.

I also just want to have at least one piston rifle just because.

The TR IC ON course didn't make any difference for the LWRC. Jeff didn't fire enough ammo out of his rifle to convince me of anything. Hell, he didn't do enough instructing to convince to ever again take another one of his courses, but that's another discussion altogether.

Thing is that I need another 16" rifle for training. In states like Illinois and Michigan, you can't use SBRs. I can bring a work rifleand be exempt, but that's a PITA.
Thinking I'm gonna do a carbine/DMR hybrid type thing. All listed rifles will be sub-MOA.

I am open to DI or Piston. I want to buy something that I know will be reliable and that I can't build myself. A lot will come down to availability, as well as cost. The prices above are not the LE price, which is substantially less. The problem is that KAC suspended direct commercial sales mid-summer, and I'm not sure it they're restarted or not. When they do, if they haven't yet, the list is going to be pretty damn long.

I'd vote custom build option #4 because:
you'll get the trigger, grip, and ch you want from the start and stock and I love geissele rails( they have a 15" mk3 rail too you might consider).

or what about an LMT MRP piston upper if you want piston?

One side note about LWRC, your experience may differ but my friend who owns a gunsmith shop had a customer bring him an LWRC rifle and he wanted some work done(can't remember what) but the rail needed to be removed. LWRC would not sell my friend's shop a wrench for the rail he had and said to remove the rail he would have to send the upper into LWRC(he ended up building a wrench to work, but that's ridiculous to me). That's also what he told me so take it with a grain of salt.

That's accurate from what I know about LWRC. The lower portion of the rail is an armorer-level task. You can only get it done by them, or by an LWRC certified armorer (which is really only LE/MIL/PMC applicable).

The LWRC has a Geissele SSA, and the KAC has a KAC 2-stage that is actually pretty decent. I would likely sell the KAC trigger for the Super TRI CON, but I'd likely still give the OE trigger a shot first.

I am still planning on picking up the LMT LM8MWS .308, so I'm sort of looking for differentiation. I actually really like the LMT LM8MRP platform, but it bugs me that it doesn't have a longer rail option. I haven't ruled that one out yet. About the same price as an LWRC though.

Finally, after an 8 month wait....

White Oak Armament
Varmint 223 18" Barrel 1:7 Twist
Matte Black Coated barrel

Now I can actually build the damn thing.

Not sure I love the shroud, looks old school Al Capone-ish, so I might swap it out later on. Optics next....

Yea, it looks very old school...kinda growing on it me now. Was looking at some Troy rails, but I think I might rock it like this for a while.

Quick question guys...I was looking at magazines....I know the magpuls are the best, but they only make 10 round units (NJ is a 15 round state)....I saw on cheaper than dirt they have 15 round magazines...are they total crap? Which ones should I go with?
