Windows 2003 and newer are fine with GPT. It's a newer spec.

i formatted it (which took less than a second...)
now it's there as E drive
but intel data migration software still won't run
says i need SSD installed
the external enclosure is being read as an USB drive...?

hmmmm. i have an hp usb drive that reads like a native drive, must the the enclosure.
