Parrot CK3000 vs MKi9200
The original posting says to only use a the CK3000 with the CTPPAR007. Were you able to use the MKi9200 with the CTPPAR007 for a 2003 330i?
Also, does an incoming call interupt the radio? I want that feature. I'm wondering what the pro's and cons on doi9jng this retrofit vs. just buying a replacement head unit from crutchfield that has BT already? Thanks. On a side note. My passenger side inside door trim (the wood looking piece) has a broken tab to hold it in place. Where do I get another piece? Thanks |

True, the original DIY was with a CK3000 and CTPPAR007. New models have since been released and it is possible to use the Mki9200 in the E46. The advantage here is that the Mki9200 has media streaming via hard wired aux / iPhone / iPod connectors as well as A2DP bluetooth. It's quite an impressive package for a couple of hundred dollars.
Retrofit versus new head unit will come down to personal choice and what look you want to have in your cabin. Many people prefer to stick to the factory look and add in 'hidden' devices whilst others are not so fussed and prefer function over form. That said, there are some head units that have close to factory orange glow, look and feel. I believe that Becker makes some that have the features you want with a reasonably OE look.

Yes it will work with the CD player (6 discs) in the boot (U.S.=trunk). I have it for many years.

For those of you who have gone with the Mki9200, do you use the color screen and if so where do you have yours located? Or can you use the unit without the little screen. My goal is a slick stealth Bluetooth set up with full Siri functionality, phone and music. Pictures would help too for those using a screen. Thanks!

Is there any way to turn off that annoying beep when the phone pairs up when you enter the car?

Does anyone know if the control box that comes with the CTPPAR007 kit is exactly the same as the one that comes with the CTPPAR008?
The wire harnesses are not the same of course... Last edited by Megalocnus; 12-10-2012 at 03:35 AM. |

I installed this setup a few months ago and it has worked fine, but recently started giving me issues. A few days ago, it wouldn't work. I didn't pay close attention to what exactly was acting up as I needed to reroute some wires, and I figured unplugging everything and plugging it back in would fix it. It did fix it for a few days, but I am having issues again.
The phone shows that it is connected, however the stereo head unit does not beep or show "PHONE" when it connects. I can initiate a call from by phone, and other people can hear me, but the radio does not change to phone mode, and I can't hear anyone. Any ideas what is acting up? Is it the parrot kit, or the connects kit? Thanks |

Just bought an Eclipse BT-E600 and CTPPAR007 on eBay.. Looking forward to this!
All should go well in conjunction with my USA-Spec PA12-BMW and iPhone 5.

I received my Eclipse BT-E600 kit and the CTTPAR007 kit in the mail recently and got to doing the DIY today. I was able to get everything done, but when pairing it, my iPhone 5 would say that it has connected but the car would not beep or give me any confirmation whatsoever. I have come to conclusion that the 5.11c firmware is to blame. I need a serial cable or something like that to update the firmware to latest (5.25c, if I'm not mistaken), but would rather not purchase from the UK and have to pay another arm & leg for shipping. Does anyone have the serial cable that I can purchase or borrow (I can pay for shipping expenses, of course)?
Thanks. EDIT: All has been fixed, and everything works flawlessly.

Does the pitch of the buzzing change depending on your speed, or is it the same note?

How well does this mod work in a vert with the top down at highway speed? I'm not expecting crystal clear sound on both ends, but am looking for something that "works". Is it possible to have a basic conversation under these conditions? I've gone through all 59 pages and there have been several owners who pulled the system out due to low volume (2W amp, front speakers only). Any real world experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!! |

I've had callers tell me they're having trouble hearing me when I'm doing at least 50mph. And I drive a coupe. I really doubt you'll get good quality out of a vert with the top down unless you're going slow.
But I still haven't added the foam around the mic yet. Last edited by spencers; 01-06-2013 at 01:53 AM. |

Yes it does change depending on my speed, now also the speakers are cracking like crazy, I think time to upgrade door speakers and mirror speakers in the front.

CTPPAR007 and Parrot MKi9200
How do you connect the CTPPAR007 and Parrot MKi9200? I recently purchased both thinking they worked together and the plugs don't match. If anyone has connected a MKI9200 to an e46 series please help. Do I need a difernt harness? Anything? Thanks

The OE bluetooth isn't much better. My TCU is a pretty early version admittedly, but it's essentially useless

I already have the CK3000 and I was about to purchase the Connects2 CTPPAR007 wiring harness but decided to look through this thread some more first and found there are some issues with pairing Android devices.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S3 4G (v4.1.2) and my CK3000 module is v5.24. Can anyone confirm that I will be able to pair my phone without a problem?
