Absolutely quiet. I would have to use a stethoscope to hear it.

Did you try taking it for a spin with the seat removed? It's a whole different sound then.

I forgot my beginning inventory of mandatory items picture...

That's a 10mm nut driver for the plate. Not listed that I recommend, us a pair of pliers for the crimp clamp.

Nope. Just idle. I mean I read all the time, "oh you should hear the pump prime when you first turn the key to pos 2, if you dont, most likely your pump is dead." Now with everything back together, there is no priming sound. Its quiet.

I just wanted to share this with you guys. Out of curiosity, I called the dealership near me here in Orlando and asked for a price quote to replace my fuel pump.

I was put on hold... then the guy came back and said 902 dollars! I was like WHAT?!?! I literally started laughing. He shrugged it off and said would you like me to schedule that for you?

I said no thanks, I just did it myself yesterday with a 125 dollar part... I just wanted to know how much money I saved... but that is nuts. It took me all of 45 minutes from start to finish, and that was with taking step by step pictures! Thanks anyway.

... He hung up, I don't even think he said good bye...

oh well...

Could I expect to see better fuel economy with a new pump?

No. If anything, slightly worse because you've eliminated any lean condition that may have existed. Most likely, no change.
